My name is Brent Gundesen & I am a New Zealand/British documentary filmmaker living in London with my wife Sara, son Ollie & daughter India.

As a Self-Shooting Director I have vast experience at a BAFTA Award winning level. Extremely versatile, creating content for streamers (Netflix, Apple, Disney+) & broadcasters (BBC, Channel 4), I’ve worked across a range of genres including observational, adventure, factual, fact-ent, current affairs & presenter led documentaries. Often managing stories with sensitive & challenging subject matter. I particularly enjoy gaining friendship & trust with contributors through empathy & warmth, whilst capturing their story with visual flair.

I am a versed, confident & technically knowledgeable self-shooter that includes filming in challenging environments in over 40 countries: Africa, Middle East, The ‘Stans, Central America, South America, USA (Alaska), Asia, Melanesia, Australasia & Europe. My streaming/broadcast credits include Netflix, Disney+, Apple, BBC, Channel 4, National Geographic, ITV, Sky, UKTV, Channel 7, Prime & TVNZ.

I​ am self-sufficient with my own​ ​film equipment – which makes me flexible & able to respond quickly to any shoot.
